Guests are welcomed from 3:00pm onwards, when your room will be freshly prepared and waiting. Departure is by 11:00am the following morning, though if you’d like a slower farewell to Shanklin, we’ll always try to accommodate an early check-in or later check-out with prior notice.

Arriving by car is made easy with complimentary on-site parking reserved for guests. Once you’ve parked, you’re free to explore both Shanklin and the wider Isle of Wight without worry.

Though the inn’s history stretches back to the 16th century, we provide every modern convenience, including complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the inn—whether you’re in your room, enjoying a pint in the bar, or relaxing on the terrace.

The Chine Inn has long welcomed families. We offer family rooms and provide child-friendly amenities such as highchairs and extra bedding upon request. With sandy beaches and the chine itself just steps away, little ones will find endless adventure.

We want every guest to feel at home. Step-free access rooms are available, and our team is happy to discuss any specific requirements to ensure your comfort during your stay.

We understand that holidays are better with four-legged friends. Well-behaved pets are welcome in selected rooms and parts of the inn—simply let us know when booking, so we can arrange everything for your companion’s comfort too.

The inn’s kitchen serves hearty pub classics and seasonal specials, always accompanied by local ales from Goddards and Yates breweries. In cooler months, dine by the fire; in summer, enjoy your meal on the terrace with sweeping views over Shanklin Chine and the Channel. A full breakfast is also served each morning, with something to suit every appetite.

Our setting is truly unique: perched directly above Shanklin Chine, one of the island’s most celebrated natural wonders, and only a short stroll from the sandy beach and Old Village. With Lake, Sandown, and the island’s other treasures close by, the inn is the perfect base for exploration.
